Our School Day 

7:30-9:30 Arrival and Open Play: the children choose from multiple different activities including building manipulatives, art/drawing station, reading corner, dramatic play, and sensory/discovery table activities.

9:30-9:50 Morning Meeting: the children meet on the rug and participate in morning group activities, including calendar, weather, classroom jobs, a story relating to our curriculum, and a social building activity.

 9:50-10:10 Snack: Families provide their child with a snack from home. During this time the children will work on social skills and independence as they learn to organize their snack, open pouches and containers, and clean up their snack space.

 10:10-11:30 Open Play: the children choose from multiple different activities including building manipulatives, an art/drawing station, reading corner, dramatic play and sensory/discovery table activities.

Outdoor Play: (weather permitting) the children enjoy our beautiful outdoor play space filled with many opportunities for cooperative play and learning.

**This time is also used for Pre-k/Preschool specific curriculum time.

11:30-12:00 Curriculum Presentation: each day, the children will be invited to the rug to engage in a specific activity related to the current curriculum. During this time, the children will discuss a topic, work on writing and fine motor skills, and participate in a project, dramatization, or brainstorm.

 12:00  Morning session dismissal/children are invited to lunch: we encourage parents to send their child with a healthy and nutritious lunch that reinforces healthful eating habits.

 12:00-1:00 Lunch: Families provide their child with lunch from home. The children sit down with their peers to enhance and develop their social skills. Teachers are nearby to facilitate and support conversation as needed.

 1:00-1:20  Quiet Time: This time is used to help regulate the children’s body. They have quiet choices available and books to look at/listen to.

 1:20-2:15  Learning Centers: The children will rotate between 5-6 different skill-building centers to build upon and practice their emerging skill set. The centers will be different each day and work on a variety of academic and play based skills.

 2:15-2:30 Snack: Families provide their child with a snack from home. During this time the children will work on social skills and independence as they learn to organize their snack, open pouches and containers, and clean up their snack space.

 2:30-3:00 Outdoor Play: (weather permitting) the children enjoy our beautiful outdoor play space filled with many opportunities for cooperative play and learning.

 3:00  Dismissal

3:00-3:30 Extended Day: (optional: $5/per day): The children have extra time to engage in open play or outdoor play (weather permitting).
